Spirulina contains a number of vitamins, including vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, and K. Some of the minerals it contains include copper, magnesium, and iron.  Spirulina is high in antioxidants which protect the immune system, help combat inflammation, and keep your body youthful. It has also been shown to aid the body in maintaining healthy cholesterol and blood pressure levels. 

When purchasing spirulina, it will typically be found in powdered form. It can be added to savory meals or mixed in with drinks or smoothies. You’ll want to add small amounts to your food, as it can have an overpowering flavor. If the flavor is difficult for you to manage, it can also be found in tablet or capsule form.
