Sea Moss

 Sea moss is a kind of seaweed which can be used as a part of your regular diet to increase the amount of minerals you consume. It is said that sea moss contains 92 of the 102 minerals needed by the human body, making it a natural, plant based multivitamin. When made correctly, sea moss gel has a very mild flavor, so it can easily be incorporated into recipes, or even eaten on its own.

   When you purchase fresh sea moss, you will find dry strands of algae which smell heavily of ocean water. To prepare this to be ingested, you will want to first thoroughly rinse your sea moss. Then place the sea moss into a container and cover with fresh spring water, making sure each strand is fully submerged. Let it soak overnight, then in the morning, pour out the water and rinse your sea moss. Add sea moss to your blender at a ratio of one cup sea moss, to two cups water. Blend for 2-3 minutes. A serving size is one tablespoon per day.
